Test for young F1 drivers: Bianchi remains in front
At Magny Cours the Frenchman is still the fastest
Jules Bianchi ended the three-day test for young F1 drivers at Magny Cours in the lead. Returning to Ferrari after yesterday's day with Force India, Bianchi ran on intermediate tires during the rain-affected morning session before enjoying better conditions in the afternoon.
Ferrari evaluated different front wing configurations and other aerodynamic innovations. Bianchi's best time, 1.16.985, achieved towards the end of the day, was only slightly slower than that set on the first day of testing, despite the less than ideal conditions.
Rodolfo Gonzalez is second with Force India after 79 laps after evaluating different tire compounds and carrying out test starts and pit stops. Brandon Hartley returned to the wheel of an F1 car driving the Mercedes W03 after several years away and steadily improved his times throughout the day.
