Formula 1 test, Hamilton: “Impossible to go faster”
"Ferrari did an excellent job"
After the record lap set by Kimi Raikkonen (1.18.634) in pre-season testing at Montmelo, Lewis Hamilton he admitted that he was unable to go faster than the Finn Ferrari, thus having to settle for his 1.19.850.
“Every year the main goal is not necessarily to go as fast as possible, but to understand how the car works and what areas you need to work on to improve”Said Hamilton. “There are some teams that have deliberately lowered their performance in the past but I honestly don't see this as a benefit for the team.”
Regarding the time recorded, Lewis said that no more could have been done. In addition to the engine, many other factors can affect the performance of a car, such as fuel load.
Finally, the pilot of the Mercedes congratulated the Ferrari for the excellent work in testing: “I don't think they're bluffing, they really did a great job,” concluded the Briton.
