F1 Test | Renault, Ricciardo: “I'm happy to have done so many laps”
Hulkenberg: "We raced without DRS to improve my understanding of the new car"
Renault finished third with Daniel Ricciardo and sixth with Nico Hulkenberg on the third day of pre-season testing on the Montmeló track.
The Australian completed 80 laps in the afternoon, achieving his best performance in 1'18"164 on C4 tyre. With the same compound the German posted his best time in the morning (1'18"800) which earned him the sixth final time.
"I'm happy to have done so many laps, trying three different tire compounds. I'm eager to find out where we can continue to improve”, said Ricciardo.
"This morning we had another productive session. We took a look at the long runs to evaluate the different configurations and aerodynamic parts. We raced without drs to improve my understanding of the new car. It's been a very busy week, but that's how tests are. We still have a lot to learn, I hope that tomorrow will be a good day that will allow us to end the week well,” Hulkenberg said.
