F1 Test | Ferrari, Vettel on the accident: "The problem concerns the front left area of the car"

Speaking to the journalists present at Montmeló, Sebastian Vettel discussed the accident that saw him (unwillingly) involved this morning. In fact, shortly after 11am, the German crashed into the external barriers of Turn 90 due to a failure that affected his SF3, but did not report any physical problems.

"Something happened in the front left area of the car, leaving me no chance. I could only slow down to reduce the speed of impact. The car is quite damaged at the front, at the moment it is difficult for us to understand the cause that triggered the accident. It would have been much simpler if there had been an escape route, thus preventing the car from touching the barriers”, underlined the four-time world champion.

Vettel, analyzing the initial results provided so far by the tests, added: “We are doing well, overall the car is responding well. We understood many things from day one and the last week has been very productive. Red Bull is going strong, proving constant and reliable. Alfa Romeo is also doing well, which could represent the surprise of this season. Mercedes, on the other hand, is difficult to judge. In some runs they are doing well, in others not so much".
