F1 Test | Ferrari, Leclerc: "They're just tests, I prefer not to go too far"

Charles Leclerc he finished the first four days of pre-season testing on the Montmeló track in sixth place. The Monegasque driver completed a total of 138 laps (72 in the morning and 66 in the afternoon, ed.), achieving his best lap late in the morning, stopping the clock in 1'18”046.

Leclerc, as soon as he got on board the SF90, completed an installation lap and then set off again for a series of comparative tests on the set-up and tyres. The program continued with further tire and car tests in different configurations developed in the afternoon.

Leclerc, speaking about the work carried out on the track in recent days, said: “For now I prefer not to go too far with the comments because this is still just a test. The feeling in the car, however, is excellent. We completed quite a few laps, the reliability is good and we managed to complete our program every day. I feel quite comfortable on the SF90 although there are still some things I have to get used to – added the Monegasque driver – including the way in which the team operates. I can say though that this is a fairly easy car to drive. As Seb said, it doesn't even look like a new car, but a car whose development is already advanced. The handling is remarkable and is a demonstration of how the team has done an extraordinary job over the winter, managing to bring a very solid car here.".

The young Monegasque, continuing with his discussion, added: "As soon as I arrived here in Barcelona I switched to 'work' mode and put aside all emotions to do my job as best as I could. The results? At the moment I'm not focusing so much on this aspect but on myself, trying to do my best and improve lap after lap".

In these first days of testing the SF90 covered 598 laps (303 with Sebastian Vettel and 295 with Charles Leclerc) equal to 2783,69 kilometres.
