F1 Bahrain test, day 2: Magnussen in front, then Hulkenberg and Alonso

Best time for Kevin Magnussen on the second day of F1 testing in Bahrain. The McLaren driver, after missing most of the morning and covering only 8 laps, brought the total number of laps completed to 46 in the afternoon, setting the best time of 1.34.910 in a short run on supersoft tyres.

Magnussen preceded Nico Hulkenberg's Force India by 1 seconds, also with supersoft tires and author of 5 laps. Third time for Fernando Alonso with the Ferrari F59 T, 14 seconds behind but the Spaniard used soft Pirelli tyres. For the Ferrari driver 1 laps completed

Fourth time for Nico Rosberg with Mercedes. However, the German's day was not free from problems with two stops on the track which caused the red flag to be displayed.

Valtteri Bottas is fifth with Williams and 116 laps completed. Excellent sixth time for Kamui Kobayashi with Caterham and 66 laps under his belt for the Japanese driver. Seventh time for Sebastian Vettel, author of 59 laps with Red Bull. The world champion team has not yet solved all the problems: the German still ran in fits and starts and at times the mechanics intervened with fire extinguishers when returning to the pits from the various runs but the RB10 already seemed more reliable.

Similar story for Toro Rosso, 48 laps with Jean-Eric Vergne, eighth today. Behind him were the Sauber of Esteban Gutierrez and the Lotus of Romain Grosjean, who completed just 18 laps today.

Last Max Chilton with Marussia with only 17 laps under his belt due to a fuel system failure.
