F1 Tests 2018 | McLaren, Vandoorne: “Positive day”
"It was my last day in the car and now I can't wait to race. I feel 100% ready," underlined the Belgian
Today was a fruitful day for McLaren on the Montmeló track. On the track with Stoffel Vandoorne, the MCL33 covered 151 laps the fastest in 1'18"855, on hypesoft tyres, which was the sixth best time of the session. A panacea for Woking, plagued by various technical problems over the days.
"Today was a very positive day for us and we completed a lot of laps – said Vandoorne -. This morning went well, we worked a lot on the set-up, we understood the tire compounds. This afternoon we completed a full race distance, which went off without a hitch. The feeling in the car from the beginning was very positive and today's work confirmed this feeling".
"Obviously we have to keep working and our car in Melbourne will be very different, as there will be a lot of updates coming. It was my last day in the car and now I can't wait to race. I feel 100% ready%”, underlined the Belgian.
Tomorrow, for the last day of winter testing, Fernando Alonso will be at the wheel of McLaren.
