The Dane smiles for the 6th place obtained in Barcelona and the 96 laps completed

F1 Tests 2018 | Haas, Magnussen: “It was our first real day at work”

Hot on the heels of last week's final day of testing, the Haas in Barcelona continued to collect interesting data and times, this time in more indicative weather conditions. At Montmelo Kevin Magnussen he clocked up 96 laps, ending the day in 6th place, +0.902 behind Sebastian Vettel. The only negative note can be traced back to the small problem that afflicted a component of the ERS system in the afternoon.

Kevin Magnussen (6th place – 1:21.298, +0.902 – 96 laps) "Has it been a good day. We did a lot of laps and started to work properly with the car, not just doing system checks, installation laps and aerodynamic tests. I'd say it was our first real day on the job, with the weather being a little warmer and representative of what we're likely to encounter during the season. I'm happy and positive.".

Guenther Steiner (team principal): “It was a productive day. We had some small problems, but they are normal in testing, so I would call them minor and we fixed them anyway. We've done almost 100 laps and if we continue like this, we'll be fine.".

On Wednesday Magnussen will hand over the wheel of the VF-18 to his teammate Romain Grosjean.
