F1 Tests 2018 | Ferrari – Testing at Catalunya concluded
120 laps today for Seb, almost 300 in three days
Montmelò – The 120 laps covered today by Sebastian Vettel bring to 298 (i.e. 1387,19 km) the total covered by the SF71H in what was, in practice, a test session lasting only three days. After yesterday's snowfall, the temperature at the Circuit de Catalunya rose significantly (at the end of the session there were 12.7° in the air and almost 15 on the asphalt), but the humidity in the morning still disturbed the activities. For this reason, in the first hours, Seb used Intermediate wet tyres, then switching to Softs - new and used - for the rest of the day, which ended with a series of long-runs and a best lap time (obtained during these tests) of 1'20”241. “It wasn't an entirely ideal afternoon – commented the driver – due to the track conditions and some time wasted in the garage to fine-tune some details. I would have liked to have shot even more, but we'll do that next week, when we start to get a better idea."
The team also carried out pit stop tests. The tests will resume on Tuesday 6 March and will last until the 9th.
