F1 Tests 2018 | Alfa Romeo Sauber, Ericsson: “There is potential in our car”

A day without ideas for Alfa Romeo Sauber on the Barcelona track. Despite the initial premises, in fact, the Swiss Scuderia carried out an aerodynamic development program on the C37, limiting themselves to sessions that are not very indicative in terms of performance. According to what was reported by Marcus Ericsson, a driver who took to the track today, the C37 has excellent potential but, being a new car, the team needs some more tests to put all the components in place.

Here are the words of Marcus Ericsson: “Being back driving the C37 was exciting. Over the course of the day we collected several interesting data and I must say that the response was positive. Our car is based on completely new mechanical and aerodynamic concepts, which is why it takes time to get everything in the best possible condition. Let's say that today's conditions didn't help us! The weather was not kind and in the afternoon we had to bring forward the conclusion of the program due to the rain."

"The car was difficult to drive because it was so cold that the tires couldn't work properly", he added. “In any case, if we look at the glass half full, I would say that it went well.
