Team Lotus: an encouraging qualification for Kovalainen and Trulli

It was a rather encouraging qualifying session for the Italian Team Lotus drivers Jarno Trulli and Finnish Heikki Kovalainen, who placed nineteenth and twentieth respectively on the starting grid.

Jarno Trulli, 19th: “I am satisfied with today's performance. It was quite windy on the track and colder than yesterday, which may have affected our ability to make full use of the tyres, but I think I gave what I could on the last qualifying lap. The gap to the riders in front of us is closing and I think with the rainy race tomorrow's race will be eventful and we hope to be in a good position to take advantage of that."

Heikki Kovalainen, 20th: “It was a pretty good session for me. The car was fine and the strategy worked as we wanted, we did what we set out to do. Little by little we are improving and I can't wait for tomorrow, I think a lot of things will happen and I think we have managed to show that we can fight with the teams in front of us. Let's see what will happen tomorrow."
