Team Lotus: Positive performance in qualifying in Malaysia

Positive performance for the Lotus team in qualifying for the Malaysian Grand Prix. Jarno Trulli and Heikki Kovalainen are enthusiastic about today's performance and positive about the outcome of tomorrow's race.

Heikki Kovalainen – Pos 19:
“It was a great session for us and I'm really happy with how we performed. After yesterday, I wasn't sure what to expect in today's sessions, but the guys did a great job to give me a car that is completely different to yesterday. As soon as I went out on track this morning I could feel a huge improvement in every area and we had no reliability issues at all today, so I was able to really push. I had fun all day and felt like I was able to get the best out of the car in all areas of the track. There's still a bit of room for improvement, so I think tomorrow will be a very interesting race for us, especially when you see how close we are to the others, and we know we have the pace when the car is in race trim. ”

Jarno Trulli – Pos 20:
“Today's performance is obviously very positive for the whole team. We didn't have any problems with the car in either session and I think we did quite well in showing what the car can really do. FP3 was very useful and we also got some good data for qualifying. The plan for tomorrow is to stay consistent and reliable, it's a long and very hot race where anything can happen, but I think we're ready for it, so let's see how it goes.”
