Taffin: “Mercedes still favourites”
For the Renault manager, Montecarlo will not offer any surprises
According to Renault track operations manager Remi Taffin, it is unlikely that in Monte Carlo we will see a different spectacle from the Mercedes domination.
“If we look at the last two/three years the German team has obtained poles and victories in the Principality, which means that the track is suitable for its single-seaters, so I don't think we will have any big surprises – his thoughts reported by Autosport – Our objective will be that of improving a little more, however in the event of a useful result we will not be able to feel like we have arrived. From an engine point of view it will be a great challenge because we will be dealing with rather limited engine revs which will influence driveability and torque, while fuel and energy management will be of less importance given that the accelerator is set to maximum holds for 30 seconds."
