The statements led to calls for a severe fine for the famous couple by the road accident victims' foundation Road Cross. The association has asked the local attorney general to revoke Hamilton's driving licence, also because the Briton - fined in Melbourne in March for dangerous driving - was involved in an accident in Switzerland last year after ignoring a road sign.

But according to information in the German press, the Geneva authorities closed the case against the 2008 world champion due to lack of evidence.
