Sutil winks at Renault for 2011
Adrian Sutil has expressed his interest in a seat at Renault starting next season. The French team announced on Wednesday the contract extension with Robert Kubica but nothing is known about Vitaly Petrov's future.
Sutil, 27, currently drives for Force India but made no secret of his ambition for a stronger team next year, during a recent interview: “I would be happy to stay in Force India for next season too but Renault for me it would be more than a simple alternative."
The first contacts between the parties should have taken place during the Valencia weekend but to replace Petrov at Renault they must first find another sponsorship. The Russian brings with it a significant sponsorship and Renault are starting a negotiation with Master Card to be able to make ends meet.
Timo Glock, en route to Virgin Racing, Nick Heidfeld and Kimi Raikkonen would also be candidates for the second Renault seat.
