Sutil, “I have matured compared to the past and I feel full of energy”
Despite a year out, the Force India German immediately felt at ease in the car
La Force India is ready to launch into what will be her sixth season in the Circus. With a line-up identical to that of 2011 which took them to sixth place in the world championship, the Indian team would now like to transform themselves into killjoys of the most famous.
“I can't wait for it to start – said the boss Vijay Mallya on the eve – In the last two years we have always scored points in Melbourne and we would like to continue like this, among other things our car performs well on road circuits and this gives us hope. I am also very happy for the couple of riders we have, in particular I am pleased with the return of Sutil. It was a demanding choice, but I'm sure it will also reward us because Adrian has been linked to us since the team's debut, he is very fast and then in the Barcelona tests he impressed everyone with his fast pace despite having been out of racing for several months. Di Resta, on the other hand, has matured and I believe he will be able to use his talent and transform it into results. Furthermore, the VJM06 has also proven to be reliable, so we are confident that we can pick up where we finished in 2012. The first race will be a lottery and if should the top teams have any problems, we will be ready to take advantage of them."
This is the budget of Paul di Resta on testing and resolutions for the new year, – “It's been a very positive winter, perhaps the best since I've been in F1. I was able to prepare optimally both on and off the track. My goal this year will be consistency. As far as Australia is concerned, we aim to reach Q3 in qualifying and the top ten in the race. I foresee a very close GP with many teams close together, so it will be interesting to see how it ends."
Finally the voice of Adrian Sutil, – “I was welcomed very warmly by my old work group. For me it's a second chance from which I have to get the most I can. 2012 allowed me to learn about life outside of F1, it made me grow as a person and I am now mentally stronger. I feel fresh and full of energy. When I got back in the car in Barcelona it felt like I had never stopped, it all came naturally to me, so I was able to push hard straight away. Even though I was only able to drive for three days I noticed a certain handling and balance of the new single-seater. I still have to understand a lot of things, especially regarding the tyres, but we're at a good point. I don't have big targets for this weekend, but for the season I would like to be able to get on the podium a few times."
