Sutil: “The safety car ruined the race for us”
In the Japanese Grand Prix the race of the two Force India drivers was ruined by the entry of the safety car.
Adrian Sutil, 11th: “To be honest, I think I was unlucky not to get any points today. My start was very good, and Kobayashi on the other hand didn't have a good start. After the first laps we were ahead of the Renaults and had a good pace. I think what really ruined my race was the safety car, because I had actually stopped the lap before and lost some precious positions. As a strategy we were on three stops, because the degradation was very high. For a few laps it seemed that ninth position was possible, but in the end we lost against those who made two stops and against those who benefited from the soft tires at the end of the race."
Paul di Resta, 12th: “I made a great start, going on the outside and passing four cars, finding myself ahead of Kobayashi and the Renaults. I set a good pace, but the safety car ruined our strategy, because that should have been the fastest part of the race in order to consolidate the gap. He helped the cars with two stops that caught up with us towards the end and it was tough to defend. In the final four races we know it will be a good battle with the teams close to us. Sauber is quite competitive and Renault seems to be returning to form, but we will try to respond in Korea."
