Strange failure of Sauber's Ferrari engine in Canada

In Canada another engine Ferrari goes up in smoke causing yet another retirement due to technical problems with the cars Peter sauber.

Failures of Ferrari units continue to increase this season and the phenomenon seems difficult to resolve. The one paying the price in a worrying way is the Clean which in Canada suffered yet another problem with De la Rosa's car.

At the beginning of the season, Ferrari had encountered a problem in managing the recall of the pneumatic valves, due to a difficulty in refilling them with compressed air, and for this reason it had obtained the OK from the FIA to modify the engines. It seems that the Maranello team has benefited from this change while Sauber continues to experience problems.

However, it should be underlined that engine failure is often caused by external factors or organs connected to it such as the cooling or hydraulic system, otherwise the fact that the Toro Rossos have never suffered any type of problem in the eight races carried out so far.

Peter Sauber is not at all satisfied with the situation and in the columns of the Swiss newspaper Blick thunders: “Five problems with the Ferrari engine in eight races, it's unacceptable. At this rate, we will need more than eight engines per driver for the season. We need greater reliability."

It seems that the biggest problems arise from the coupling of the C29 with the Maranello unit, perhaps due to incorrect chassis design. Test driver Mark Gené was also of the same opinion: “Ferrari solved its problems with the engines, but Sauber had a failure again. It's a problem that will be thoroughly analyzed by the team. Two months ago there was a basic reason, but now it's very strange. They need to work to analyze it with Ferrari."
