Stewart: “F1 is still dangerous”

For the former Scottish driver, not enough is being done for safety

Stewart: “F1 is still dangerous”

The many measures taken from '94 to today to improve circuit safety have not made motorsport disciplines less dangerous.

Sir declared it Jackie stewart, a spectator like everyone else of the carambola at the start between Alonso and Raikkonen, in Austria.

“Verstappen's accident in Monaco could have proved fatal, as did the one that occurred to Lance Stroll in F3 in Monza last month – said the three-time world champion to the Tagesspiegel – Unfortunately at the moment the drivers are not being listened to. A while ago, however, if something wasn't right we made ourselves known, we managed to boycott the races. Maybe now kids have a different awareness. They are young, some are not even married, so they don't feel the risks."

“Personally, if only I were asked to do something to help them, perhaps by participating in the GPDA, I would gladly accept – he added – It's bad to say but it seems that we are waiting for the dead, if not two, to intervene”.
