Stevens: “Frustrating to be behind Rossi”
Also due to an accelerator problem, the Englishman from Manor qualified behind his teammate
Some technical problems characterized Manor's Mexican Saturday, which had its work cut out for it in the pits between morning and afternoon. From the riders' point of view however, the result once again gave Rossi the edge over his teammate.
“In FP3 I had a problem with the brakes but the guys managed to fix it in time for qualifying – he said Alexander, 19th and 18th – I was disappointed because the grip had improved and a few more laps would have been useful. In any case I am satisfied. As in Austin, I believe we will be able to take advantage of the critical issues that the track presents."
“I had just got out on the track for the first run when the accelerator stuck, forcing me to return – he said Will Stevens, 20th and 19th – I was then called to the weigh-in, so my chances ended there. However, I'm happy not to be too far from my team mate even if it's frustrating to be behind. I hope for a good battle in the race."
