Sepang has renewed its contract with F1 until the 2018 season
The partnership with Petronas has also been confirmed
The Malaysian Grand Prix will remain on the Formula One world calendar until the 2018 season. In a note published on the track's official website, the organizers of the Grand Prix announced that they had reached an agreement with Bernie Ecclestone regarding the renewal of the contract expiring in 2016, thus prolonging Malaysia's commitment to the Formula One circus.
The organizers also announced the renewal of their historic partnership with Petronas, Mercedes partner and leading fuel company. The Malaysian oil company will therefore continue to play the role of title sponsor of the event. It should be noted that it was the Malaysian Prime Minister, Najib Razak, who announced the signing of the renewal for an event that has now been a fixed stage of the World Cup since 1999.
