Sebastien Buemi: “We need to improve qualifying”

The Swiss Toro Rosso driver, Sebastien Buemi he is already looking forward to the next European Grand Prix in Valencia and is focused on improving his qualification, the small handicap of his STR.

The driver climbed the starting grid from 15th to eighth place at the end of the race, in Canada, and was also leading the race for just one lap and everyone remembers him in particular because the overtaking probably took place behind him best of the day: the one between Hamilton and Alonso.

“Our race pace is good and I think eighth place proves me right, but we are still too weak in qualifying. It is clear to everyone that we are much more competitive in the race and the results we expected are arriving. To try to take a further step forward in the race you need to improve your qualification: it's one thing to be in 15th position and another thing to start from the top ten!

This deficit of ours comes from the fact that our car is unable to immediately bring the tires up to temperature to make a good lap; in the race we manage to exploit them very well, however, with the heavy car".

These are the words of a Buemi who remains optimistic and is already thinking about the next Grand Prix, with the aim of improving his qualification and with the consequent possibility of bringing home a decent number of points for the team.

“In Valencia our primary objective will be to improve qualifying by trying to get as close as possible to the top ten and then we'll see what happens. The editions held in Valencia so far have been uninspiring, let's hope for this year's race because without supplies there could be some surprises."
