Michael Schumacher will not be present at the German GP this weekend. After his retirement from F1 for the second and final time last year, the seven-time world champion was expected at least at the Nurburgring race as an exceptional spectator.
But German newspaper Bild reports that the 44-year-old has signed up to compete with his wife Corinna in a charity horse competition to raise money for a children's hospital.
“The coincidence of dates was unfortunate” he commented. “But I will definitely watch the Grand Prix on TV.”
