Schumacher motivated, not disappointed: “Unlucky start to the season”

Michael Schumacher has said he is not disappointed with his start to the 2012 Formula 1 season despite failing to make the most of his Mercedes' performance. While his teammate Nico Rosberg has won one race, collecting 41 points so far, Schumacher has only achieved two tenths of place and two championship points.

“I think we have a pretty good car, honestly,” Schumacher said ahead of the Monaco GP. “Since last year we have made great steps forward and have shown that we are capable of winning races. I was just unlucky. We are a team, a big family, we win and lose together. I'm not disappointed at all. More than anything motivated by the progress we have made."

In Monte Carlo the German will be penalized by five positions on the grid for the accident with Bruno Senna in Spain: “I think we will be competitive on this track, it suits us. We'll see how I qualify and what race it will be possible to do from my starting position. It's certainly not ideal, but that's how it is, I'll definitely have fun."
