Schumacher: The inconsistency of 2010 is not just my fault

Schumacher: The inconsistency of 2010 is not just my fault

The good performance in Suzuka has reassured Michael Schumacher a bit who, after having received the criticism and the Mercedes ultimatum last week, is taking a few pebbles off his shoe.

At the end of the race in Japan Michael said: “The car performed well this time. Unfortunately this was not the case in all races. You only saw that I was slower but both cars weren't always the same: until Saturday, for example, my F-duct wasn't working as it should."

During the race Michael was stuck behind Rosberg and only overtook him when Nico's car had a technical problem which forced him to retire. The seven-time world champion, despite being faster than his teammate at that moment, was unable to find the right starting point to overtake. Michael tried to complain to the garage but Andy Shovlin, his engineer, replied from the pit wall: “There are no team orders. Be careful of your maneuvers."

Schumacher also responded to those who believed his relationship with Brawn had changed after the criticism: “..Ross didn't criticize me. He just underlined that, compared to Nico, I'm a little further behind, and that's probably right. I'm the first to criticize myself, even at 41 I always try to improve myself."
