Schumacher: “We're doing well in braking and traction, but only tomorrow we'll know how good we'll be”

The two free practice sessions for the Mercedes GP proved solid for both drivers, with Nico Rosberg experiencing KERS issues in the afternoon.

Michael Schumacher, 3rd: “It's always special to be here in Monza. Already yesterday, when I toured the circuit, I saw the fans and enjoyed the particular atmosphere of this circuit. Then today I went out in the car and heard everything from the fans – it reminds me of my home races. Regarding the circuit, we are good in braking and traction and there are not many medium or slow speed points, our weak points this year. We seem to be in good shape, given my position today and I'm happy about it; but only tomorrow will we find out how much it's really worth."

Nico Rosberg, 22nd: “I didn't have an ideal session this afternoon, as I had KERS problems at the start of the session. Although, at the end of the day, we learned a lot of data for the race and I still got used to the track. Monza is a very different circuit from the others and with the fast points you have to get used to picking up the pace."
