Sauber: Sutil, “We must try to get more from what we have”

Free practice sessions for the United States Grand Prix in Austin went smoothly for both Sauber drivers. In the morning Esteban Gutiérrez and Adrian Sutil tested different car set-ups, while in the afternoon they concentrated on tire distribution during long runs.

Esteban Gutiérrez (Pos 17)
“It was quite a difficult day, but it was good that we completed our programme. On the other hand, I had some issues that we are trying to resolve. The balance of the car is reasonable overall, we are experimenting with the set-up in order to find a suitable set-up. Conditions were not easy today, as it was very windy. We have to consider this for tomorrow. Overall, the tires worked well. The soft compound degrades more than average. It seems like both compounds are a good choice for this track.”

Adrian Sutil (Pos 16)
“It was a normal Friday. We carried out our planned program without any problems. We tested different set-ups on the car, as well as the soft and medium tyres. Tomorrow we will try to get more from what we have.”
