Driver Sergey Sirotkin has announced that he has signed a contract to race with Sauber in F1 in 2014. The news had already been announced by the team's CEO, Monisha Kaltenborn, to the Austrian press at Spa-Francorchamps.
The contract with the Russian driver is essential for Sauber to conclude the agreement with the new Russian financiers.
“I'm a Sauber F1 driver for 2014! Thank you all for the congratulations,” said the 17-year-old on the Russian social network Vkontakte.
The next step for Sirotkin will be to obtain the FIA superlicence.
