Sauber, disappointing qualification for Nasr at Spa. Progress for Ericsson

Disappointing qualifying for Sauber on the Spa-Francorchamps track.

Despite the new evolution of the Ferrari power unit and some aerodynamic measures, Marcus Ericsson and Felipe Nasr were unable to gain access to the third qualifying session, thus not realizing the great work carried out by the Swiss Scuderia on Friday. The aim now is to make up for this disappointing Saturday with an absolutely top-level race performance.

Here are the words of Marcus Ericsson: “First of all I want to thank the whole team for their hard work this week. We worked on the car all night and I have to say that the progress is quite evident. The disappointment remains that we didn't make the most of this opportunity, we weren't able to put together a good FP3 and the result in qualifying was influenced by this. We made some changes but nothing changed, at least not in the way we wanted. We hope to get a good result tomorrow."

Here are Felipe Nasr's impressions: “It was certainly a very disappointing qualifying. I wanted to do Q2 but we weren't able to get the car right during free practice on Friday. We didn't have enough grip and we suffered a lot in the second sector. We absolutely need to understand what happened so as not to experience the same problems again tomorrow. Luckily Spa is a good track to overtake and so I'm quite optimistic. We can fix it."
