Sauber, Nasr: “Quite an unlucky day”

Sauber, Nasr: “Quite an unlucky day”

Very unlucky day for Sauber on the Suzuka track. In fact, Felipe Nasr and Marcus Ericsson were unable to get through to Q2 during qualifying for the Japanese Grand Prix, the fourteenth round of the 2015 Formula One World Championship. The two standard bearers of the Swiss Scuderia were unable to fix the C34 during free practice three in the morning, irreparably compromising the afternoon session. Ericsson and Nasr will now have to play a completely attacking race to try to bring home some points during this Suzuka weekend.

Here are Marcus Ericsson's impressions: “It was a very confusing session. Everything was compromised by that small mistake during Q1 which ultimately didn't allow me to get into Q2. I lightly hit the grass on the outside of the corner and took off towards the outside, thus missing the first set of mediums for the session. I did the second run without a reference and this cost me dearly. The yellow flag only completed the job. We hope to get into the points in tomorrow's race."

Here are the words of Felipe Nasr: “We had a lot of bad luck today. Getting to Q2 was possible from my point of view. I was on my best lap when I ran into the yellow flags caused by Max. Tomorrow we have to give our best. It's not an easy track to overtake, so we need to take advantage of any opportunities that may emerge."
