Sauber F1: One step away from Q3 in Australia

"We are still one step away from Q3 but we were closer than in Bahrain. We will continue to work hard to improve the car and tomorrow we will fight for points. This is what I really want – to finish the race and in the points. I pushed hard in qualifying and overall I'm satisfied with my fastest lap. In traffic it was very difficult to do a clean lap, particularly in Q1. I did my best to stay away from the others, even though it doesn't always work despite the information coming from the pit lane."

"I expected to finish qualifying in a better position because I had good speed in free practice 3. I pushed very hard and almost lost the car but I wasn't able to get into Q3. Nonetheless, we definitely improved compared to Bahrain Even if the positions are the same the gap is smaller. I'm quite confident for the race."
