di alessandra14 September 2011
What were just persistent rumors yesterday have been confirmed today: Michael himself in 2012 it will be in McLaren as sporting director.
It has been specified, however, that the last grand prix with Williams for the 40-year-old Australian will be in Singapore next weekend.
According to McLaren's statements, Michael will have "responsibility for the development and management of the team's operations".
“I am delighted that Sam has found a new role that allows him to apply his energy, passion and experience in F1” commented Sir Frank Williams.
Sam Michael at Williams has been virtually replaced by Mike Coughlan and Mark Gillan, who will start work next week.
