Rossi: “Some difficulties but overall a fantastic debut”
The American from Manor managed to get behind Stevens
In a Singapore GP full of retirements the Manor she managed to complete her main, if not only, goal of seeing the finish line with both cars.
“It was great to debut on a citizen – the thrill of Alexander Rossi, 14th – Not knowing the procedure well, I struggled at the start but then I recovered and at turn 5 of the first lap I passed my partner. All was well until halfway through the ride the radio stopped working. From there it was very difficult because especially during the period of the second safety car I didn't know exactly when to double up. In the end I managed to get through it. I thank the team for their commitment."
“I'm quite satisfied with my race despite immediately losing position – the words of Will Stevens, 15th – In the safety car regime I tried to recover but I had excessive degradation of the rear tires so it wasn't possible. I hope to do better in Suzuka on a track more in line with my characteristics."
