Rossi in Ducati, closer to F1 according to his father

Valentino Rossi's move to Ducati in MotoGP is a step forward towards the leap into Formula 1 according to his father Graziano. The champion from Tavullia, after seven years with Yamaha, will move to Ducati with a contract for 2011 and 2012.

“Valentino is not ready to stop with motorbikes” said Graziano Rossi to Sky Sport.

“But if in three or four years he will go to F1 what better path than Ducati?” added Graziano. “It would seem like a step forward.”

Ducati and Ferrari share sponsor Marlboro and other partners and traditionally the two manufacturers participate together in the pre-season event in Madonna di Campiglio.

Rossi has tested F1 Ferraris on several occasions and the leaders of the Maranello team would like to entrust him with a third car in the future if the rules allow it.
