Rosberg: “I feel calm, we have a good feeling”

Nico Rosberg is optimistic about his prospects for the Monaco Grand Prix weekend despite completing few laps in FP2.

The Mercedes driver completed just 13 laps in the second practice session due to rain and was sixth fastest in the afternoon. “It was a good start. I'm quite happy with the car, overall I feel calm", said the German. “It was a positive day and we are going in the right direction. We have no problems with the set-up so we are quite calm even if we didn't ride much this afternoon. The car was going well, it had a good feeling before the rain came.".

Rosberg is sure that his car is particularly suited to the Monte Carlo circuit, but reckons that a lot will depend on how the tires behave. “In general, cornering speed could benefit us, it also depends on how the tires work. It remains to be seen whether we will be the ones able to bring the tires into their operating window or whether other teams will do so.", concluded the Mercedes standard bearer.
