Rosberg: “My most listened to opinions at Mercedes after Schumacher's retirement”
The German is optimistic about Barcelona
Nico Rosberg is convinced that his opinion is now considered more at Mercedes, following the farewell to F1 of seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher.
Although Rosberg always beat Schumacher in his three years at Mercedes, the 27-year-old said he enjoyed less "political" power.
When asked by the Austrian newspaper Krone about the change in his role after Hamilton's signing, he replied: “Yes my position has changed. Now my opinion counts, and for me it is something extraordinary in the process that must lead Mercedes to become the best team."
Rosberg also stated that being friends with his former karting partner Hamilton was a help, because finding a common goal within the team "is easier".
The German took pole at the Bahrain GP but lost several positions in the standings due to overheating of the tyres. Rosberg said he can't wait to go to Barcelona.
"I can't wait. I was the fastest in the winter tests and I'm sure that somehow we will solve the tire problem."
