Rosberg: Mercedes is 'a disaster'

While the Mercedes is already thinking about the development of the car for 2011, Nico Rosberg he called his W01 “a disaster”. Once again the young German easily overtook teammate Michael Schumacher in Valencia, but the result obtained was still not great: twelfth place on the starting grid. In the race, Rosberg was unable to score even a single point, despite the Brackley team - winner of the 2009 world championship as Brawn GP - bringing a series of new updates to Spain, including the new exhausts copied from Red Bull.

Immediately after the Grand Prix, Rosberg was quite angry and almost a week after the race he told the Colonia Express publication: “It's a disaster. The team is well aware of the difficulties with the tyres. We've been saying for a few weeks that we'll be at the front again and nothing is happening. In fact, we ended up in the rear.”

The 25-year-old pilot admits his "anger" at the situation.

“If you start twelfth, behind both Williams cars – who were in difficulty until two weeks ago – what do you expect? I moved from Williams to Mercedes because I thought I would have a winning car here.”

Team manager Ross Brawn said the team will continue to develop the W01, but said it was time to use a different approach.

“We didn't do a good enough job,” admitted the Briton.

“First we need to get our new aero package fully working and depending on the results we will decide to what extent we will focus next season,” added Brawn.
