Rosberg: “We need to expand the team to be able to make a winning car”

La Mercedes GP must grow as a team to be able to win a title as a constructor.

This is the statement of Nico Rosberg, teammate of Michael Schumacher in the last two years, who will remain in the Brackley team for next season.

Nico Rosberg is expected to extend his contract further and hopes to benefit from it, as Ross Brawn is busy expanding the team structure.

The drastic cut in staff came at the end of 2008 and the Briton said they had probably been a little too optimistic in significantly reducing the team.

Rosberg said: “The team is not big enough to make a winning car, but we have understood the situation and are strengthening the organisation.”

“We are progressing rapidly and there are more and more new faces,” he told Tuttosport, “Which shows the great desire to improve.”
