Richards has not yet decided whether to register for the 2010 F1 World Championship
David Richards declared that the decision regarding registration for next year's world championship has not yet been made. The former BAR and Benetton boss is considering taking part in the 2010 low-cost championship, possibly with Prodrive, Aston Martin or a Middle Eastern brand.
“It all depends on two things: will the new rules allow us to succeed? And are there the financial conditions that would allow a new team to complete a practical and long-lasting business model?” he said in an interview with the German publication Auto Motor und Sport.
Three teams – Williams, USF1 and Campos Racing – have already submitted the necessary documentation for registration, the deadline for which is May 29th. “We'll wait until the end and see what happens. Shortly before the deadline there will be meetings of the boards of directors of Aston Martin and Prodrive. Then we will decide,” Richards said.
