Ricciardo: “If Red Bull had gone, F1 would have died”
The Australian revealed he never feared having to look at other series
Daniel Ricciardo he's sure of it. If Dietrich Mateschitz had not backed down and Red Bull and Toro Rosso had found themselves at the door due to the lack of a power unit to assemble in 2016, F1 would have had no future.
“Considering the current conditions of the category I believe that with two less teams it would have turned into a bad place, or rather it would hardly have survived” – the Australian's sentence proclaimed during the Perth Speed Fest.
Speaking instead of the fears felt during the season for the unclear tomorrow, the 26-year-old from Perth then confided: "Fortunately they always kept me informed of what was happening without going into details which allowed me to remain optimistic and not have to watch elsewhere in search of an alternative”.
