Retrofront Mercedes: fourth ICE unit for Rosberg in Singapore
Nico will "defrost" the last thermal unit for this championship
Despite the enormous work of the technicians in Brixworth on the third thermal unit used by Nico Rosberg in Monza, the Mercedes German will be forced to fit a new power unit during the next Singapore Grand Prix, the twelfth round of the 2015 Formula One world championship. After a careful analysis of the problems suffered by the ICE during free practice 3 in Brianza, the technicians of the Scuderia di Stuttgart have chosen not to risk the "defective" unit withdrawn in Monza, preferring to focus on the fourth and final unit for this finale of season.
Bad news for Nico as he will presumably have to arrive in Abu Dhabi with the internal combustion unit that will be fitted to his W06 on Friday evening. The old Monza unit will however be used in free practice for the remaining championship events, including tomorrow's in Singapore.
