Renault renews with Mecachrome: three more years together for F1 engines

Mecachrome International announced today that it has renewed the exclusive agreement with Renault Sport for the manufacturing and assembly of the Formula 1 engines developed by the French company. The new contract has a three-year duration and will end at the end of 2010, a time limit which suggests at least a similar commitment in Formula 1 on the part of Renault.

For the two companies, this is the continuation of a long collaboration in the sector of high-performance engines, in particular those used in the top series. Mecachrome is a leader in the design, engineering and manufacturing and assembly of high-precision components for aerospace, automotive and industrial applications, and provides services primarily to manufacturers of exclusive machinery. The company operates mainly in France and Canada and employs over 2.000 people.
