Renault, Remi Taffin: “Engine significantly improved compared to 2015”

Good news for Renault (team) and also Red Bull, which will in fact mount the Renault engine even if called TAG-Heuer.

The technical director of the transalpine team's motoring area, the Frenchman Remi Taffin, explained why he is confident in a clear improvement of the Regiè's drive unit, convinced that the gap from the very strong Mercedes engine - and also from Ferrari - is destined to always reduce more, only to be eliminated within a year.

“We have continued to work on the specifications we had at the end of last year, we are mainly focusing on ICE and turbo. Energy recovery systems, MGU-K and MGU-H are fully under control – Taffin explained - Our concern is to deliver a reliable and competitive power unit to the Enstone boys. But we will also focus a lot on performance; we have seen clear signs of progress, and we are convinced that we can demonstrate them already in Melbourne".
