Renault, Petrov: “Interlagos is not a favorable circuit for our car but we will try for Q3”

The Russian Renault driver does not hide his team's difficulties on this particular Interlagos circuit, site of this weekend's Brazilian Grand Prix.

Bruno Senna – 12th: “It was an interesting day. The performance in the second session was definitely better than the first session, our times this afternoon were much more in line with the other teams. For tomorrow, we need to work on the balance of the car which will be crucial to ensure a good qualifying and give us a good chance on Sunday too.”

Vitaly Petrov – 11th: “Free Practice 1 was interesting for me and it was actually a good experience to be on the pit wall for a session. It allowed me to better understand what engineers see and what they require from drivers. In FP2 there were no mechanical problems, so I think my team did a great job to fix the car after the clutch problem in the morning. We know that it is not an easy track for our car, as can be seen with our times. It will be difficult in qualifying tomorrow, but we work hard to try to get into Q3 but it won't be easy. Today we were dealing with rear-wheel drive and oversteer so we focused on improving this area."

Romain Grosjean – 12th: “I couldn't wait to jump back in the car this morning and I loved every minute in the car. It's a track that I particularly like, a fantastic old-fashioned circuit, with lots of fans in the stands. We saw some interesting data on the technical side, which the team is already looking at. For next year I want to spend a lot of time in the car because I really like getting behind the wheel – it's a job I love.”
