Renault, Magnussen believes in the points zone: "Give me a normal race"

Kevin Magnussen's adventure in Renault didn't start in the best way. The twenty-four year old Dane was unlucky in both Australia and Bahrain, forced to come back from the back in both cases. In Melbourne the Renault number 20 suffered a puncture on the first lap, with Kevin immediately returning to the pits and the race being significantly compromised. In Sakhir, due to a violation of the weigh-in procedures, Kevin was forced to start from the pit lane, finishing eleventh under the checkered flag. Now Magnussen is asking for a problem-free race.

“I am really enthusiastic about my adventure in Renault and I have a great desire to score my first championship points. Give me a normal race without punctures and penalties and we can do it - Kevin said - It was frustrating to push hard in two GPs and not score points. The car is good, of course we need more downforce and more power, but we can finish in the points when things go smoothly. Starting from behind doesn't help, it's really tiring to get out of the battle of the last positions. Shanghai is a circuit that is spectacular in some ways, just think of the entrance to Turn 1, which is truly special. Our car could suffer on the long straights in China, yet I am confident, I am convinced that with a linear race we could have our say for the points."
