Renault: Ghosn avoids commenting on the Singapore scandal

During the Frankfurt Motor Show, Renault Nissan Group president Carlos Ghosn was reluctant to comment on the 2008 Singapore crash scandal.

So far, the affair has led to the resignation of the two managers of the French team, Flavio Briatore and Pat Symonds, and has caused incalculable damage to the company's image.

The next steps could be even more damaging, amid speculation about possible criminal recriminations, legal action and the anger of the World Motor Sport Council, which meets next Monday.

The British newspaper Times reports that Ghosn was "visibly irritated" when asked by journalists present in Frankfurt for his opinion on the matter, replying to "go and ask Bernard Rey," the team president.

To the French newspaper L'Equipe, the manager said more calmly: “The only thing I asked is not to react in the heat of the moment. I trust Bernard Rey completely and once the facts are resolved we will be able to react clearly,” added Ghosn.
