Renault, Frederic Vasseur: “Singapore is more suitable for our single-seater”

Renault always thinks in the long term, but hopes to have a good race at Marina Bay

Renault, Frederic Vasseur: “Singapore is more suitable for our single-seater”

Renault, with just seven points in the standings, which came with Magnussen's seventh place in Russia, is a team entirely projected towards the future, a continuous work in progress. Yet the Singapore race could prove better than others for the Enstone-based team, given that the circuit design seems to suit the RS 16 better.

“Singapore is a type of track that could suit our car better than those we have visited recently - explained team principal Frederic Vasseur - We can hope for a result that is more in line with our expectations. In Monza we knew we would suffer, plus Kevin's accident at Spa which didn't make things easier. We are now focused on Singapore. Obviously we always work with a view to 2017, our goal is long term, but we want to close the next races in the best possible way. The team is improving a lot, there are things not visible on the outside that testify to this. But they are factors that could make a difference in the future, I'm thinking of tire management, speed in the pit stops, general management of the race weekend."
