Renault, Abiteboul: “The results do not do justice to our efforts”

Renault's return as an official team in F1 hasn't been the best so far, with Regiè occupying a sad ninth place in the Constructors' standings. Yet Cyril Abiteboul, general director of Renault Sport, is convinced that the Enstone-based team is working in the right direction, despite a disappointing first half of the championship, with only one points finish achieved, namely Kevin Magnussen's seventh place in the Russian GP.

“The results we see on track do not do justice to the great work done at our Enstone and Viry sites - commented Abiteboul - We are progressing very quickly, we have very large margins for development, we work a lot and we are strengthening the team. Our objectives are always medium and long term. This doesn't mean that 2016 isn't an important season for us, but it's clear that this year will help us above all to lay the foundations for future seasons, we're learning a lot of things."
