Red Bull, Webber: “Today at Spa one of the team's best results ever”

Red Bull driver Mark Webber described the one-two finish at the Belgian Grand Prix as one of the team's best ever results, especially given pre-race concerns over tire blistering problems.

“The team result today was probably one of the best results,” Webber said. “It was stressful last night and this morning, but we, the drivers and the team, handled the situation very well.”

Webber's strategy went a little awry in the race, with communication problems leaving the Australian driver out longer than expected on his second set of tyres.

“I should have pitted when Seb did, but my radio was completely blocked,” he explained. “I asked if I should stop, but I didn't hear anything.”

“The start was shocking, I let go of the lever and the anti-stall came on immediately,” Webber said. “It was a disappointing start for me.”

Webber then recovered several positions and was the author of one of the most audacious overtakings of the season, while he was wheel to wheel with Fernando Alonso at Eau Rouge with the Ferrari returning to the track after a pit stop.

“It was a good battle with Fernando. We were obviously very, very close at Eau Rouge, I used the KERS, and it was gratifying that it worked well, but it takes two people to do a good overtaking, it can be done with Fernando – He's a world class guy and a loyal driver,” concluded Webber.
