Red Bull, Vettel: “We hope to be faster tomorrow. We still have a lot to learn."

The German driver is more satisfied with the second free practice session.

Sebastian Vettel hopes that Red Bull will be much faster tomorrow, after a slow start this Friday during the first free practice. The German had problems with his car during the morning, placing him in eleventh place, but was happier with his afternoon practice session.

Rain, however, meant Vettel ran little in the afternoon, doing just 19 laps and setting the tenth fastest time.

“Maybe we didn't get everything we wanted, but we can be pretty happy,” Vettel said.

“This morning didn't go very well – I wasn't happy with the car at all. This afternoon it went a little better, but in these conditions it's difficult to ride for long. It's like that for practically everyone."

“We didn't shoot much in the afternoon, but all in all everything went well. It's up to us to find the right balance and understand the car in these conditions at this circuit, and hopefully we can go much faster tomorrow morning."

Vettel also stated that it is very difficult to decipher and interpret times and that his goal for Saturday is to get to Q3 and see what his chances are from there.

“It was a bit confusing towards the end, especially the last laps on a dry track. It's difficult to say anything."

“First of all we have to analyze the speeds, who used the DRS or not, then we can think about who had more or less fuel. It's difficult to draw conclusions now, tomorrow the goal is to get to Q3 and then we'll see."

“It would be nice to be able to control the race from the front. But the road is still long. This morning wasn't good, it was better in the afternoon. We have a lot to learn."
